Learning grows stronger when it is shared.
배움은 나눌 때 더 깊어집니다.

When I was younger,
I was told that the purpose of learning was to give back to society.

At the time,
I didn’t fully understand what that meant.

Now, as I write,
I am beginning to understand it in a different way.

Writing often feels like something deeply personal—
like looking into a mirror,
or gently reaching an unseen place within myself.

But at the same time,
I realize something else.

A story does not truly come alive
until it is shared.

Just like a sound cannot exist
without two hands coming together,
a story, too, needs connection.

I’ve come to realize that I learn the most when I share what I know.
Not as an idea, but as something I’ve truly experienced.

There is no such thing as writing completely alone.

That is why spaces of learning matter.

Not only for writers,
but for readers as well.

🌿 Here are a few places where stories and learning meet:

  A global community for children’s writers and illustrators, offering workshops, conferences, and creative support.

  A professional organization that supports writers through education, advocacy, and community.
• Local book fairs, library programs, and reading events
  where young readers and families can experience stories together.

These are not just places to learn.

They are places where stories begin to grow—
through connection, through sharing, through listening.

어릴 적,
나는 배움의 목적은 사회에 되돌려 주는 것이라고 들으며 자랐습니다.

그때는 그 의미를 깊이 알지 못했습니다.

하지만 지금 글을 쓰면서
나는 그 말을 조금 다르게 이해하게 되었습니다.

글을 쓴다는 것은
어쩌면 나 자신을 들여다보는 일,
내 안의 보이지 않는 곳을 어루만지는 일과도 같습니다.

하지만 동시에
한 가지를 깨닫게 됩니다.

이야기는
나누어질 때 비로소 살아난다는 것을.

손바닥도 마주쳐야 소리가 나듯이,
이야기 역시 연결될 때 완성됩니다.

나는 나누고 가르치는 순간에
가장 많이 배운다는 것을 깨달았습니다.
그것은 단순한 생각이 아니라,
내가 직접 경험한 사실입니다.

완전히 혼자 쓰는 글은
어쩌면 존재하지 않는지도 모릅니다.

그래서 배움의 공간이 중요합니다.

작가뿐만 아니라
독자에게도.
