Don’t Spare

Don’t Spare

I found While unpacking the last boxes after moving house,
I found a page I had written in 2019.

It was after I broke my wrist.
I couldn’t do much for a while.

At the time, I think I was trying to remind myself of something:

Don’t save sunshine for winter.
Don’t postpone happiness for “someday.”
There may not be a tomorrow waiting politely for us.

Reading it again now,
I can still feel the quietness of that season.

Maybe healing is sometimes just learning
how to fully notice a warm day,
a flower,
or a moment that will never come back in exactly the same way again. page recently.
Not really a poem.
More like thoughts I wrote down
while sitting still for too long.
